A niche role in finance with a global corporate is a dream for many students who are interested in Finance. - IIM Ahmedabad
IIM Ahmedabad is a college that is considered by many as the first ranked b-school in the country. For the batch of 2018-2020, 51 domestic offers and 3 international offers were provided in finance domain by top corporates, which accounts to 13.9% of the total offers provided in IIM Ahmedabad. INR 23,64,816 was the mean fixed yearly cash component for the 51 domestic offers and $93,936 was the average for the fixed yearly cash component for the 3 international offers. In investment banking, Avendus made 10 offers and JP Morgan made 8 offers. Other prominent recruiters were Citi, Credit Suisse, Goldman Sachs and HSBC.
- IIM Bangalore
The PGP 2018-20 batch of IIM Bangalore had 432 students. There were 518 offers made. !0% of the total offers were made in corporate finance and commercial banking domains. Goldman Sachs provided 7 offers. The average domestic compensation was at INR 26.18 Lakhs.
- IIM Calcutta
The placements process for IIM Calcutta’s 2018-20 batch with 444 students concluded with 498 offers provided by 150 recruiters. 15% of the total offers made were in finance domain. And IIM Calcutta students also received 14% offers in finance domain of the total Pre Placement Offers made. The average salary in finance sector was INR 30.6 Lakhs.
- IIM Lucknow
IIM Lucknow also achieved 100% placement for its 34th batch 2018-20 with 443 students. Over 140 recruiters participated in the process. A few of the major recruiters were American Express, Citi, Goldman Sachs, J.P. Morgan Chase, Investec and Mastercard. In BFSI sector, 85 offers were made. 19% of the offers were provided in finance domain. The major roles were offered in investment research, corporate, wholesale retail banking.
- IIM Kozhikode
IIM Kozhikode has also started its first batch of PGP Finance 2020-2022 which is dedicated towards creating experts in Finance industry. 21% of the total offers made for the batch 2018-20 were in finance domain. The average CTC was INR 20.38 Lakhs and the highest CTC was INR 37 Lakhs for the finance roles. The major recruiters were Axis Bank, Citi bank, Credit Suisse, Deutsche bank, Goldman Sachs, HSBC, JP Morgan Chase.
- IIM Indore
IIM Indore secured 100% placements for its PGP 2018-20 batch and IPM batch. Students of IIM Indore were offered niche roles in asset management, corporate banking, investment banking, risk analytics and equity research. 23.3% of the total offers were made in finance domain. The major recruiters were Credit Suisse, Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan Chase, DE Shaw.
- FMS Delhi
FMS Delhi has also attracted top corporates for finance. Alpha Investment and Research Club is an initiative which is student run and involves mutual fund, financial conclaves. The number of finance roles offered has also increased for the batch 2018-20 when compared to the previous year. Finance roles were offered by Axis Bank, Airtel, American Express, Avendus Capital, Bank of America, Barclays and many other top corporates. The profiles were in front end investment banking, corporate banking, wealth management, treasury. 7 PPOs and 37 offers in total were offered in finance domain.
- XLRI Jamshedpur
XLRI Jamshedpur had an exceptional placement season for finance where the students of 2018-20 batch received multiple domestic offers in BFSI sector at INR 50 Lakhs. BFSI domain also received 17% of the offers offered to students of Business Management. Few of the major recruiters for BFSI roles are Citibank, Shannonside Capital, J.P. Morgan Chase, Goldman Sachs, Avendus Capital, Standard Chartered.
- IIFT
HDFC Bank, Federal Bank, RBL Bank recruited IIFT students for the first time. Prominent recruiters included Goldman Sachs, HSBC, Yes bank, Citi Bank and DE Shaw. The students of 2018-20 batch were offered roles in investment banking, corporate treasury, multinational corporate banking among many. 14% of the offers were made in BFSI sector.
- Vinod Gupta School of Management, IIT Kharagpur
A total of 131 offers were made by over 70 corporates for 125 students. 12% of the total offers were provided in BFSI sector for the batch of 2018-20. The prominent recruiters were Kotak Mahindra Bank, Oxane Partners, ICICI Bank, IDFC First bank and TresVista. Finance roles were offered in financial analytics and banking operations.
- ISB Hyderabad
The class of 2020 had a batch size of 890 students. 12% of the total offer made were in BFSI sector. The major recruiters were Axis Bank, American Express, Citibank, ICICI Bank, HSBC, HDFC Bank among others.
- JBIMS Mumbai
JBIMS also has a good record of acquiring finance roles. The batch of 2018-20 had 125 students. Average CTC offered was INR 22.84 Lakhs. 38% of the total offers made were in BFSI and IB domain. Roles were offered by J.P. Morgan, IDFC bank, HDFC Bank, Citibank, Bajaj Finserv, Axis Bank.
- SPJIMR Mumbai
The PGDM batch of 2020 had 238 participants in the batch, the average CTC was INR 26.36 Lakhs per annum. 122 companies participated and many roles were offered in equity research, digital banking, private equity, corporate finance, NBFC. Prominent recruiters included Goldman Sachs, Bank of America, Nomura and Sabre Capital.
- MDI Gurgaon
MDI completed the final placements process for its batch 2018-20 consisting of 239 students in PGPM, 60 students in PGP-IM and 60 students in PGP-HRM. Over 126 companies participated in the process with 41 new recruiters. 20% of the total offers were provided in BFSI sector which accounts to 72 offers. Investment banking profiles were offered by Goldman Sachs, J.P. Morgan Chase, Nomura and Langham Capital.
- IIM Trichy
IIM Trichy successfully completed the placements process for its batch of 2018-20, with 186 offers provided by 119 companies. 23.7% of the total offers provided were in finance sector. Finance and Banking domain had an average CTC of top 50% at INR 17.5 Lakhs per annum. The roles offered were investment banking associate, global finance and business management, global investment analyst, corporate banking associate among the many.
- SIBM Pune
For SIBM, Pune, the season 2019-20 saw 48% of students receiving PPOs in finance domain. The institute claims that the specialization is designed to provide students with a strong base in applied financial management. Bajaj Finserv, Goldman Sachs, HDFC Bank, KPMG, CRISIL, Axis Bank, Barclays, IBM had offered roles from finance sector. For the batch of 2018-20, the highest CTC was INR 20 Lakhs per annum in finance domain.
- NITIE Mumbai
NITIE completed the final placement process for 414 students with an average of INR 20.8 Lakhs per annum. 121 companies participated in the process. BFSI sector received an average salary of INR 18.3 Lakhs and highest was at INR 22 Lakhs. 12% of the total offers made were in BFSI domain for the batch of 2018-20.
- SJMSOM, IIT Bombay
The batch of 2018-20 at SJMSOM had 111 students and 28% of the batch was placed in reputed organizations like Goldman Sachs, ICICI Bank, IDFC First, J.P. Morgan Chase, Yes Bank among many. Roles were offered in Investment banking, retail, corporate banking and transaction banking.
- IIM Shillong
IIM Shillong completed the placement process for its batch of 2018-20 with 175 students. 170 students participated in the process and 185 offers were made by 60 recruiters. 20% of the total offers were in finance domain. 27% of the offers were provided in BFSI sector. INR 28.5 Lakhs per annum is the highest CTC received in finance domain. DE Shaw, Goldman Sachs, ICICI Bank, IDFC First Bank, J.P. Morgan Chase and Nomura were the prominent recruiters.
- DMS, IIT Delhi
DMS, IIT Delhi had a strength of 68 for the batch of 2018-20. A total of 83 offers were provided to the students. 17% of the offers were made in finance domain. Prominent recruiters for finance included Barclays, Synergy Consulting, ICICI Bank, Yes Bank, TresVista, Silverdale Fund Management. Roles in project finance, portfolio management, equity research, risk management were offered to the students.
