Students belonging to the general category scoring between 400-500 NEET marks may or may not secure a medical seat in top government colleges. Under the state quota, the general category students are expected to secure marks between 450-600 which is about 100 marks more than the 400-500 NEET marks range.

In other words, those belonging to the general division must score more than 400-500 marks in NEET. Nonetheless, the 400-500 marks in NEET is a good range for students under the reserved categories of OBC, SC, ST, etc. Candidates securing NEET marks between 400-500 can try for admissions through the 85% State quota. 400-500 marks is a decent score for private colleges with a lower cutoff while for mid-tier medical colleges, it may be a safe score but the competition may be higher.

The expected percentile range for 400-500 marks in NEET 2025 is around 90-98 percentile. Securing 400 marks in NEET is expected to be equal to 90 percentile while obtaining 500 marks is equivalent to an expected 97-98 percentile range. The corresponding percentile range expected for NEET marks between 400-500 is subject to exam related factors such as total number of NEET candidates taking the exam, difficulty level of the exam and the general score distribution.

Join the free NEET whatsapp group for latest NEET updates and other important information

Table of Contents

Toggle

400-500 Marks in NEET: Brief Overview

Importance of NEET Marks &
