However, he was not able to crack the cutoff for Verbal Ability. Then, one of his friends, who pursued MBA from IIM Indore, suggested that he join iQuanta. He was expecting around 98 percentile. But, he knew that the exam is all about competition where he need to score better than others. So, if his paper didn&#8217;t go well, the others were also not able to score that good. Hence, he was able to score more than 99 percentile. He was really happy with his result. He informed his parents and friends, and later got in touch with Indrajeet Sir. He informed him that he completed his first milestone &#8211; clearing the CAT exam and the next milestone is cracking the B-schools interviews. He asked him regarding his next step, what calls to expect, and how to proceed regarding the same.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-cat-topper-abhinay-shrivastav-s-cat-preparation-strategy-what-changed-in-the-second-attempt\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"CAT_Topper_Abhinay_Shrivastavs_CAT_Preparation_Strategy_What_Changed_in_the_Second_Attempt\"><\/span><strong>CAT Topper Abhinay Shrivastav&#8217;s CAT Preparation Strategy: What Changed in the Second Attempt?<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>During his first attempt, he completed all the syllabus thoroughly, solved a lot of booklets and gave almost 30 &#8211; 40 mocks. During his second attempt at preparation, after joining iQuanta, he started solving the question of the day and took part in the daily practice sessions. He also watched all the video lectures and learned many new concepts. His doubts were cleared easily too. He had planned to give around 30 &#8211; 40 mocks, but then he heard about Indrajeet\u2019s prize money strategy. That really motivated him to give 15 &#8211; 20 extra mocks, thinking that if he perform well,  he could recover my fees! Finally, along with many others, he got the money as well. The panel threw him off by asking thermodynamics questions, despite him being from an IT background. It felt like a stressful interview. He said &#8211;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He it didn\u2019t go well. But he didn\u2019t let it affect me. It was a learning experience. He told himself, this isn\u2019t the end of the world. And, he learnt something that day &#8211; he should not be stressed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-fms-delhi\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"FMS_Delhi\"><\/span><strong>FMS Delhi<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>As shared by him, the interview was the polar opposite at FMS Delhi. He said that the vibe was chilled. The interview lasted just 5-6 minutes. He was asked to speak on a simple topic: \u201cSlow and Steady Wins the Race.\u201d In his words:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>\u201cI stayed confident. I didn&#8217;t get stressed because of my previous learning. The thing is that you have to be confident when attending any B-school interviews. That\u2019s what they wanted to see. And that\u2019s what got me through.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-cat-topper-s-struggles-along-the-way-behind-the-scenes\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"CAT_Toppers_Struggles_Along_the_Way_Behind_the_Scenes\"><\/span><strong>CAT Topper&#8217;s Struggles Along the Way: Behind the Scenes<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If he talked about his first attempt, he was not very thorough with my concepts, even though he completed the syllabus. He was not aware of the tricks needed to solve a problem. Before joining iQuanta, when he was preparing for his second attempt, he was not able to solve the mocks and Previous Year Questions. When he joined iQuanta, he learnt a lot of tricks, shortcuts, and formulas to solve a question directly. He didn&#8217;t know about this in the beginning and towards the end he found it hard to remember these tips and tricks. He attempted a total of 50-55 mocks in these two months. On CAT day, it didn\u2019t even feel like an exam.
