Actual Timelines may vary)<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>WAT PI experience<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-5735 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.iquanta.in\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/1-1-3.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"397\" height=\"193\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.iquanta.in\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/1-1-3.png 397w, https:\/\/www.iquanta.in\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/1-1-3-300x146.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 397px) 100vw, 397px\" \/>CAP 2019 Process<br \/>\n<\/em><em>Place \u2013 Kolkata, Date \u2013 20<sup>th<\/sup> February 2019<br \/>\n<\/em><em>Location &#8211; Novotel Kolkata, Newtown<br \/>\n<\/em><em>Time slot \u2013 8 am<br \/>\n<\/em>WAT topic \u2013 EWS criteria introduced in Educational Institutions in India<br \/>\nTime \u2013 15-30 mins was allotted to write an essay on the Topic<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Tips to prepare for WAT (Written Ability Test):<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>After you have given your CAT in November, start your preparation early<\/li>\n<li>Keep reading editorial sections of Newspapers<\/li>\n<li>Practice and brush up your writing skills on a daily basis on current affairs, relevant topics<\/li>\n<li>Learn to form an opinion of current happenings by reading Newspapers \/ Business Magazines and relevant Articles<\/li>\n<li>In the WAT process, you will be provided a sheet to write your essay. Keep the sheet clean and organized. Think before you start writing. Jot down your points in your mind or with a pencil first so that you can create the right flow of ideas in your essay<\/li>\n<li>Maintain a structure in your essay (Introduction &gt; Body &gt; Conclusion)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>By using the months of December, January, February and March effectively and starting early, you can perform pretty well in the WAT (Written Ability Test). After the essay (WAT), candidates were divided into several panels for the Personal Interviews. Each panel had 2-3 interviewers from IIMs.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Personal Interview (PI) Experience<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-5736\" src=\"https:\/\/www.iquanta.in\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/2-4.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"356\" height=\"237\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.iquanta.in\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/2-4.png 356w, https:\/\/www.iquanta.in\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/2-4-300x200.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 356px) 100vw, 356px\" \/><\/em>Panel &#8211; 3 Interviewers. The Personal Interview lasted around 15 mins. We were needed to carry the file containing original <em><br \/>\n<\/em>documents which were checked at the beginning of the interview.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Questions asked:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Background, Current status (student or Working professional?), My background was Electrical Engineering, fresher<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li>Several questions related to Electrical Engineering were asked<\/li>\n<li>Questions on (Substation, Wheatstone Bridge, Resistors, B. Tech Project etc)<\/li>\n<li>Questions related to hobbies asked, puzzle given related to area of interest (football)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Tips to prepare for the Personal Interview Process<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The PI (Personal Interview) is a very crucial part of the CAP selection process. As there is no GD (Group Discussion) in CAP, a lot depends on your performance in the PI.<em><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-5737 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/www.iquanta.in\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/3-3.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"227\" height=\"151\" \/><\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Start your PI preparation early. Use the months of (December, January, February and March) efficiently.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare important questions such as Tell me about yourself, WHY MBA, Which Specialization, Hobbies<\/li>\n<li>You need to have a basic understanding of Business domains (Marketing, Operations, Finance, Strategy, Human Resources, Consulting)<\/li>\n<li>Prepare a good personal story to relate your achievements and progress in life. As a good personal story will always be remembered<\/li>\n<li>Be updated on current happenings, current affairs, latest business trends<\/li>\n<li>For the WAT PI process, you should dress in proper Business Formals, well-groomed appearance to create a positive impression in the Interview<\/li>\n<li>Be prepared on your Work-related fields (if you are a working professional). If you are a fresher, it is important to brush up on your domain of interest. Prepare at least 2 subjects with good depth so that you can showcase your expertise<\/li>\n<li>Talk\/consult current MBA students on their Interview experience. This will help to get important insights<\/li>\n<li>Give mock Interviews. Give the mock interview with full preparation. Dress properly in Business Formals for the mock interview and schedule it before-hand. This will help you refine your answers and keep your nerves.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>By starting your preparation early and preparing in an all-round manner for the WAT \u2013 PI process, you will be able to improve your performance drastically.
