It helped me a lot with the domain subjects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sometimes, you come across questions that can be confusing. In such situations, if you have a strong understanding of the topic and have thoroughly read the relevant NCERT material, you can often make an educated guess. I did not spend a lot of time taking mocks for CUET and focused more on previous year questions. I felt that PYQs were more relevant because they helped me understand the kind of questions that actually appear in the examination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-ipmat-topper-interview-q5-overcoming-the-fear-of-maths-as-a-non-maths-student-to-crack-ipmat-indore\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"IPMAT_Topper_Interview_Q5_Overcoming_the_Fear_of_Maths_as_a_Non-Maths_Student_to_Crack_IPMAT_Indore\"><\/span><strong>IPMAT Topper Interview Q5: Overcoming the Fear of Maths as a Non-Maths Student to Crack IPMAT Indore<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>So, first of all what happens with most of the students who have not studied Maths is that they develop an inferiority complex. They start thinking, \u201cMaths wasn\u2019t part of my curriculum. How am I supposed to do it? This is outside my syllabus and beyond what I know.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But that mindset is not helpful, and you need to stay away from it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You should look at the topics simply as pieces of knowledge. Don\u2019t think of Mathematics as something completely different or impossible. You need to grasp it, understand the concepts and learn how to apply them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a non-Maths student, coaching can definitely help. In my case, iQuanta helped me a lot. For Mathematics, I relied on live classes by Yogesh Sir, the recorded classes provided by iQuanta, and the questions available on the dashboard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They were extremely helpful. If you attend the live classes and consistently solve the dashboard questions, you are pretty much well prepared for the examination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-ipmat-topper-interview-q6-is-starting-ipmat-preparation-in-august-too-late\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"IPMAT_Topper_Interview_Q6_Is_Starting_IPMAT_Preparation_in_August_Too_Late\"><\/span><strong>IPMAT Topper Interview Q6: Is Starting IPMAT Preparation in August Too Late?<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>I would like to say that whether you prepare in August or you prepare in December, either you have 2 months or 2 years, you\u2019ll always feel like you have less time. You just need to have a proper plan and structure.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In my case, I had one year for my preparation starting from August. So for that I needed a structure and therefore I took help from iQuanta coaching institute. It gave me structure to cover the topics. Put your doubts and you will get a response within 1-minute and you will find 7-8 doubt solvers ready to solve your doubts anytime within the community. At times, students themselves solve the doubts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>No matter what question you ask, how silly your questions may be, you\u2019ll definitely get a response. ChatGPT, Google is not beneficial when it comes to doubt-solving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-ipmat-topper-interview-q8-balancing-school-studies-with-quant-lr-and-other-subjects\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"IPMAT_Topper_Interview_Q8_Balancing_School_Studies_with_Quant_LR_and_Other_Subjects\"><\/span><strong>IPMAT Topper Interview Q8: Balancing School Studies with Quant, LR, and Other Subjects<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>So, sir, I would like to say that I used to go to school regularly. I was the kind of student whose attendance was always among the highest in the class. It was around 90%. So, what happens is that people think if you go to school, you will waste a lot of time and won&#8217;t be able to study on your own. But in my case, school actually helped me maintain discipline. For example, if you are attending classes regularly and you are under the supervision of teachers, definitely, there is a pressure on you to complete whatever task has been given to you. You have tests and other things, and if you go to school regularly, you will be pretty much occupied with all of that.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And as far as IPMAT is concerned, if you give it three hours a day, that is more than enough for this exam. Even if you give just two hours, that is more than enough. And once your boards are over, once your boards are completely over and you don&#8217;t have any other commitments, you can devote a full eight to seven hours to IPMAT. It&#8217;s not like you have to study for eight to 10 hours every day from the beginning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-ipmat-topper-interview-q9-how-did-yatharth-plan-his-next-day-goals-the-night-before-and-make-sure-he-actually-followed-through\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"IPMAT_Topper_Interview_Q9_How_Did_Yatharth_Plan_His_Next-Day_Goals_the_Night_Before_And_Make_Sure_He_Actually_Followed_Through\"><\/span><strong>IPMAT Topper Interview Q9: How Did Yatharth Plan His Next-Day Goals the Night Before And Make Sure He Actually Followed Through?<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>So, the framework I used was based on the functions of management &#8211; planning, organizing, staffing, directing, controlling, and so on. I had a notebook. In that notebook, I had a planning section where I would write down what exactly I had to accomplish.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For example, I would write that I had to watch a particular video, and after that I had to solve two or three sets. And similarly, whatever tasks I had to complete, I would note them all down. Usually, there would be around seven or eight tasks.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Okay. And a day before, I would also check whether I would actually have enough time the next day to complete all seven or eight tasks. If I knew the next day was going to be busy, I would reduce the number of tasks. So, I would first check whether I needed to do less or more the following day. And when I woke up in the morning, I would have only one thing in my mind: these are my tasks. Okay, this is the time, this is the task, I just had to keep ticking them off one by one. And by the time it was night, I could understand how effective my planning had been and how well it reflected the next day. The better it reflected my actual schedule, the better my efficiency would be.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For example, if I completed seven out of eight tasks, that meant my efficiency was quite good and my execution was quite good. But if I completed only four out of eight tasks, then we would analyse what went wrong.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In management, we find deviations, right? So, we would find the reasons for the deviation &#8211; why did I miss those four tasks? And then, in the next planning cycle, we would correct it. Why were those tasks missed? Did I plan too much? Did something unexpected come up? I don&#8217;t even have a normal Facebook account. So, no, I&#8217;m not active on any of the social media accounts I have. I only use YouTube and that too for studying and WhatsApp is there, of course, for groups and all, and for IPMAT-related things.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-ipmat-topper-interview-q11-how-did-yatharth-unwind-and-have-fun-during-his-preparation\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"IPMAT_Topper_Interview_Q11_How_Did_Yatharth_Unwind_and_Have_Fun_During_His_Preparation\"><\/span><strong>IPMAT Topper Interview Q11: How Did Yatharth Unwind and Have Fun During His Preparation?<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Not really. It wasn&#8217;t like I would suddenly think, \u201cOkay, let&#8217;s go somewhere today.\u201d It was always in my mind that I had to study, I had to study, I had to study. Right. As for going out, that would happen anyway sometimes. Sometimes, in the evening, I would go out. That&#8217;s more than enough for me. For example, if you&#8217;ve been attending classes and doing your course and studying at home, then you do need a little break.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-ipmat-topper-interview-q12-what-was-yatharth-s-iim-indore-interview-experience-like-what-was-he-actually-asked\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"IPMAT_Topper_Interview_Q12_What_Was_Yatharths_IIM_Indore_Interview_Experience_Like_What_Was_He_Actually_Asked\"><\/span><strong>IPMAT Topper Interview Q12: What Was Yatharth&#8217;s IIM Indore Interview Experience Like? What Was He Actually Asked?<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Okay. So, first of all, I would like to say that the IIM Indore interview is mostly about 70- 80% academics-based questions. If you have strong extracurriculars, that can help, but in my case, I had no extracurricular activities. No, no extracurriculars. I only had a good academic background. That&#8217;s what I had. Right. I had scored a good percentile in Olympiads Commerce Olympiad, Science Olympiad, and so on. So, I had no extracurriculars, and my interview was therefore mostly academic.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Apart from that, there was a little bit of GK and current affairs. Like, at that time, there was the CJP and some basic static-GK questions as well, which were basically asked in a way to put you under a little pressure. They want to see whether, when you don&#8217;t know something, you are able to admit it honestly. You have to accept that you don&#8217;t know the answer, so that your honesty can come across in front of the panel. Now, there is one more thing I want to add.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Most of the time, we see that people ignore their school academics, and in extreme cases, some students even opt for dummy schools. If you are not giving importance to your boards and school academics, then it can become a problem when the panel asks you in-depth questions. As generally happens at IIM Indore, they ask detailed questions from your academic subjects. So, if you fumble at that point, your chances could be at risk. And I would say that the IIM Indore panel is actually looking for good students who are highly academically inclined.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Because even after you join, academics continue to be an important part of your IPM journey. So, that&#8217;s definitely something to keep in mind. And if you are a good student, if you are academically strong and have good marks, that creates a good impression. So, you simply cannot ignore your academics. Academics are very important. You cannot sacrifice them just for IPMAT preparation. There were no questions about extracurriculars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-ipmat-topper-interview-q13-why-did-yatharth-focus-solely-on-iim-indore-without-a-backup-and-how-did-he-build-the-confidence-to-convert-it\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"IPMAT_Topper_Interview_Q13_Why_Did_Yatharth_Focus_Solely_on_IIM_Indore_Without_a_Backup_And_How_Did_He_Build_the_Confidence_to_Convert_It\"><\/span><strong>IPMAT Topper Interview Q13:Why Did Yatharth Focus Solely on IIM Indore Without a Backup And How Did He Build the Confidence to Convert It?<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Sir, I would like to say that I had this deep conviction from the very beginning that it was either SRCC or IIM Indore. And somewhere deep inside, I also had the confidence that I would definitely get one of these two.That confidence really helped me while I was working every day. And today, purely because of my hard work and my belief in myself. I have both of these colleges in my hands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-ipmat-topper-interview-q14-who-was-yatharth-s-support-system-during-low-moments-in-his-preparation\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"IPMAT_Topper_Interview_Q14_Who_Was_Yatharths_Support_System_During_Low_Moments_in_His_Preparation\"><\/span><strong>IPMAT Topper Interview Q14: Who Was Yatharth&#8217;s Support System During Low Moments in His Preparation?<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>For me, my support system was my elder sister. And if I tell you about her, she has also been a management aspirant. She was also preparing for CAT, so she had already gone through many of the things that I was facing.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The same things that were happening with me like when my mock-test scores would get stuck at a certain level or when I couldn&#8217;t understand a particular topic, or when I kept getting questions wrong and started feeling that nothing was working despite all the effort I was putting in. At those points, she would give me insights and help me.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A good thing about having someone who has already gone through all of this is that you don&#8217;t have to learn everything the hard way. You get a more efficient way of dealing with things. You don&#8217;t have to figure everything out through trial and error. You save a little bit of your energy and time.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, that was extremely helpful for me, and I am very grateful to her for that. It was a blunder and if it was the same interview on the main interest day, I would not have converted at all.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For someone like me who isn&#8217;t used to speaking in front of anybody and isn&#8217;t very confident in English, it can be difficult to express yourself properly. It becomes important to practice over and over a lot. And, narration is also important for that.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, iQuanta\u2019s interview preparation helped me a lot. It helped me give a lot of mock interviews.The mock interviews and the interview practice were not very short. It&#8217;s not like that we would spend 10-15 minutes just for formality and end it. It was a rigorous interview.&nbsp; We would have a proper live interview, which could last around 30-40 minutes. You would also get feedback and an action plan. They would also tell you what you needed to do going forward. You would keep improving yourself and becoming more confident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And if there was a question that you couldn&#8217;t answer during the interview, you would get stuck.So, through practice, you can correct those mistakes. And to practise properly, you need actual mock interviews. He asked me &#8211; suppose you are made the Chief Minister of your state. How would you reform it? How would you bring development? What would you do?&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, when you encounter such questions in the interview and after the interview ends, it constantly comes up in your mind &#8211; the ways you could have answered such questions.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, in my IIM Indore interview, I was asked an identical question, not the same though. The panel asked \u201cHow can you contribute to development in rural areas or in rural India?\u201d So, yeah it was an identical and extempore topic. So, at that time, luckily I remembered quite a few good points. But eventually, it is important to give a lot of mock interviews and get exposure to different kinds of questions.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, when you give mock interviews, the probability of getting identical questions increases and you get lucky.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-ipmat-topper-interview-q17-yatharth-s-closing-message-to-juniors-how-to-stay-motivated-and-apply-what-they-learn\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"IPMAT_Topper_Interview_Q17_Yatharths_Closing_Message_to_Juniors_%E2%80%93_How_to_Stay_Motivated_and_Apply_What_They_Learn\"><\/span><strong>IPMAT Topper Interview Q17: Yatharth&#8217;s Closing Message to Juniors &#8211; How to Stay Motivated and Apply What They Learn<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>So for me, the thing that made me crack both these exams, both these colleges was a strong internal desire, a strong drive inside yourself. A strong purpose &#8211; why do you need to crack this college? What&#8217;s your motive behind it? You want to give your family a good life. You want to make your parents proud. You want to build a good career going forward. You want to live a life of respect. And keep that purpose alive and vivid in your life always, so that whenever you wake up in the morning, you have that thing in your mind. Yes, this is my goal. Now, to achieve this goal, this is my exam. For that, I need to study every day. So you basically have to go crazy for it. Right? You have to go crazy for it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-ipmat-topper-interview-q18-iim-indore-or-srcc-which-one-is-yatharth-finally-choosing\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"IPMAT_Topper_Interview_Q18_IIM_Indore_or_SRCC_%E2%80%93_Which_One_Is_Yatharth_Finally_Choosing\"><\/span><strong>IPMAT Topper Interview Q18: IIM Indore or SRCC &#8211; Which One Is Yatharth Finally Choosing?<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>So, of course, I&#8217;m going to IIM Indore. Because I find that it&#8217;s a great place. You&#8217;ll get an MBA there too, right? Yes, I would like to appear for CAT as well. Yes, I would take a chance, and if God wants, then we can go to ABC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-what-yatharth-s-sister-shared-about-his-journey\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_Yatharths_Sister_Shared_About_His_Journey\"><\/span><strong>What Yatharth&#8217;s Sister Shared About His Journey<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Her feelings about his selection: <\/strong>She&#8217;s a management aspirant herself and has written the same exams (CAT, etc.), so she understands the process firsthand. She&#8217;s genuinely happy that Yatharth converted IIM Indore, and noted a bit of family history. As the elder sibling, most of her parents&#8217; expectations were originally on her, but Yatharth ended up being the one to achieve it. Said their parents were actually happier than she was about the outcome, and that it was Yatharth who unlocked his own potential.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>On monitoring his preparation: <\/strong>She and her mother closely tracked his prep, checking his mock test scores regularly and sometimes doing surprise checks. She made sure he wasn&#8217;t repeating the same mistakes that students typically make early in their preparation. Said she also did her own research before choosing IQuanta, she hadn&#8217;t taken demos elsewhere but had seen their content on YouTube and felt confident sticking with one structured source.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Advice to other parents\/students: <\/strong>She pointed out that many parents aren&#8217;t fully aware of what exam their child is preparing for, or the exam pattern\/expectations, which is a common problem. Urged parents to sit down with their child, understand what they&#8217;re preparing for, and align the child&#8217;s interests with the right path, since kids can otherwise get pulled in different directions including peer pressure to just &#8220;do what everyone else is doing&#8221;. She further said that students get demotivated repeatedly during prep, so parents should keep checking in after every attempt and talk through where they&#8217;re struggling. Also stressed that students themselves need to take initiative, if parents can&#8217;t help with content, the student should find and choose their own mentor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Shared her own experience: <\/strong>A mentor once told her the MBA journey isn&#8217;t really a two-year process, it effectively starts the day you decide to pursue an MBA, making it more like a three-year journey.
