Regional Registration Office <a href=\"https:\/\/indianexpress.com\/article\/cities\/mumbai\/actor-imran-khan-asked-to-leave-india-days-after-protest-against-cec-gyanesh-kumar-10922534\/\">to leave India by October 28<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About OCI Scheme:<\/strong> It is governed by the <strong>Section 7A to 7D of Citizenship Act 1955<\/strong> after amending it in 2005. <strong>It\u2019s not dual citizenship.<\/strong> OCI Cardholder remains the foreign citizen subject to Indian immigration laws and rules.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Rights of OCI Cardholder:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Lifelong visa with multiple entry, reside and work in India.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Not required to register with local police or FRPO regardless of their length of stay.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>They are equivalent to NRIs in case of economic, financial and educational privileges.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Restrictions:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>They don\u2019t have the right to vote in elections.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>They are not allowed to hold any constitutional or official post.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>They are not eligible for appointment in public services.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>They don\u2019t have the right to own the agricultural property.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>They are required to take permission from Ministry of Home Affairs cases:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Getting registered through fraud, false representation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Showing disaffection towards Constitution of India.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>OCI Cardholder acts against the sovereignty,&nbsp; integrity, or security of India or friendly relations with foreign states.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sentenced to imprisonment for <strong>2 years<\/strong> within 5 years of OCI registration.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Necessary in the <strong>public interest<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Note: Under <\/strong><strong>Foreigners Act, 1946 &amp; Passport (Entry into India) Act, 1920<\/strong> the Central Government\/FRRO has the power to regulate, restrict entry, or issue directions to foreign nationals to leave the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" Integrated Theatre Commands:<\/strong> These are unified military structure where operational control of resources of Army, Navy and Air Force in a specific geographical area is placed under a single, dedicated <strong>Theatre Command<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Currently India has 19 military commands: 17 Single service commands includes Army (7), Air Force (7) and Navy (3).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>India has 2 Tri-service Commands:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Andaman and Nicobar Command:<\/strong> Only geographical tri-service command of India, established in 2001 and its HQ is in Port Blair.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Strategic Force Command:<\/strong> Established in 2003, an integrated functional command handling nuclear assets.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Proposed Theatre Commands<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Northern Theatre Command<\/strong>: It will focus on China border, and its HQ will be in Lucknow, UP.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Western Theatre Command<\/strong>: It will focus on Pakistan border and its HQ will be in Jaipur, Rajasthan.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Maritime Theatre Command<\/strong>: its focus area will be Indian Ocean Region and its HQ will be in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The objective of establishing these Theatre Commands is to avoid asset duplication, enabling joint doctrine, ensuring single point operational decision making.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Note: <strong>DB Shekatkar Committee in 2016<\/strong> recommended reorganization of Indian defence forces into integrated theatre commands to ensure It\u2019s a peri-urban reervoir that plays an important role in regulating sediment and water flows from the surrounding catchment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Sauj Jheel is situated in Uttar Pradesh<\/strong>, a shallow lake surrounded by farmland in the plains of Ganga river. It is situated near to Sman Bird sanctuary, another Ramsar site in UP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About Ramsar Convention<\/strong>: Its an intergovernmental treaty signed on 2 Feb 1971 in the Ramsar City of Iran. It came into force in 1975.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is not affiliated to formal UN system but partnered with IUCN as its secretariat. Its not <strong>legally binding. India signed the treaty in 1982.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2 Feb is celebrated as World Wetland Day.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>3 Pillars of the Convention:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Wise use of all wetlands<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Designation of wetlands into <strong>List of Wetlands of International Importance<\/strong> also known as <strong>Ramsar Sites<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>International cooperation on trans-boundary wetlands, shared wetland systems, and species.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Wetlands<\/strong>: these are swamps, marshes, peat-lands, lakes, rivers, mangroves, coral reefs, and even human-made sites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Note: <strong>Montreux Record<\/strong> is a register of Ramsar wetland sites where changes in ecological character have occurred, are occurring, or are likely to occur due to anthropogenic activities.
