JEE Mains and JEE Advanced are the top engineering entrance exams for admission in top engineering institutes of India. The prominent among them are Indian Institute of Technology (IITs), National Institute of Technology (NITs) and Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIITs). Candidates who qualify JEE Mains are eligible for admission in JEE Advanced which is the required evaluation criteria for admission in IITs. Those who qualify JEE Mains are eligible for admission in NITs, IIITs and other top engineering institutes. JEE Mains is held in two sessions and aspirants can register for both the sessions. The exam consists of three sections - Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics. It is held online, except for the drawing test for admission in the B.Arch programme. The exam consists of two papers - Paper 1(for BE/B Tech) and Paper 2 (B.Arch/B.Plan) and consists of MCQs and numerical based questions. Similarly, JEE Advanced consists of two papers and includes three sections similar to JEE Mains. Both the exams have negative marking for every incorrect answer marked. If you are an upcoming candidate, here is everything you need to know about JEE Mains and JEE Advanced.

JEE Advanced is one of the toughest exams in the world. The exam is known to be framed to reject candidates rather than accept them. The subjects asked and the syllabus are similar to JEE Mains (high school Physics Chemistry Maths) with tougher and trickier questions. A student is allowed a maximum number of 2 attempts in 2 consecutive years. The tentative exam date is in mid-May. It is conducted by one of the seven zonal IITs. Other universities, such as the Marine Engineering and Research Institute, the Indian Institute of Petroleum and Energy (IIPE), the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology, the Indian Institute of Space Technology (IIST), and the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) use the score obtained in the JEE-Advanced exam as the sole basis for admission. The JEE-Advanced score is also used as a possible basis for admission by Indian applicants to non-Indian universities such as the University of Cambridge and the National University of Singapore.
The syllabus for JEE Mains comprises major topics from 11th and 12th standard PCM. Good preparation for JEE Mains ensures you do well in Boards in the 3 subjects. JEE Mains preparation also ensures you are conceptually sound in the topics which will help in Advanced preparation as well.
Know the strategy to attempt iJEE mocks:
Now getting acquainted with solving questions yourselves has some internal steps. You might initially have to go through solutions when not able to solve them. And that's okay. But how to get through?
i) Attempt should be to solve it by yourselves. Let's say you were able to solve it within 1-3 minutes. (Depends on difficulty/length). It's all fine. Let's suppose it is going beyond 4 minutes, it means you're still slow and need more practice to reduce speed.
ii) If the method is not clicking or stuck in some step, you should try for 5-10 minutes before seeing the solution. If you get the solution yourselves, you'll feel great as well as you will remember it for a long time because struggle was involved.
iii) If not able to solve even after spending 5-10 mins, Then you can check the solution, and mark in which step you were stuck, was it the first step or something in between? Note that step in your cheat sheet. That you'll have to revise so that the same mistake is not repeated in the Future.
After doing 50 questions repeatedly, you'll observe you are able to solve some or many questions without seeing the solution. That time you can see you have improved & you can consider this topic complete and can move to the next topic. In this process you don't have to get demotivated, just understand it is a part of the process, and in case not able to solve it by yourself there isn't any issue the process isn't complete yet, the only thing you have to make sure is you have to do it enough number of times so that it gets ingrained in your mind.
Check below the process of IIT mocks:
Expert Tip: Solve questions from some standard books and most importantly solve all questions being posted in the IIT Preparation - iQuanta group or iQuanta Paid group because the questions posted in the group are relevant which prepares you for a great extent for IIT. ( even if you don't comment, do solve) .
After Syllabus Completion: Read important concepts from your weaknesses and regularly update your cheat sheet. iQuanta will conduct practice sessions on each of the topics in the paid group. -Give one Mock every fortnight and spend more time analyzing the mock than you spend on taking it. (One of the Most understated pieces of advice) -Strive to improve your performance after each Mock by identifying your weaknesses and practicing questions on the topics you could not solve in your mocks. The agenda after every Mock is to identify one topic and ensure that you never get questions wrong on the same topic in the next Mock. This way you'll be plugging in all your loopholes.
1) Keep solving Questions from your materials and in case you have a doubt, post in iQuanta group. Somebody is always there to help.
2) Make a note of new things you learn. It helps a lot. And keep revising. Be regular this whole year.
iQuanta classes are known for concept building, application and the art of solving, doubt clarification, and very much result-oriented.
People say winners don't do different things but do things differently, we say do it with more perseverance, dedication, and of course smartly

iQuanta JEE courses are planned in such a way that over the course duration the IIT-JEE syllabus is completed twice along with detailed video sessions from experts on important topics.
Start your preparation from basic to advanced starting with NCERT books and basic reference books. However, at this stage candidates get caught up with multiple JEE study materials that are not up to the JEE level, thus, hampering their preparation.
iQuanta JEE study material helps solve this problem as the content included are carefully structured chapter-wise with easy concept explanation, JEE level problems with solutions along with carefully selected questions from basic to advanced levels ensuring easy transition from learning the theory to applying it to solve the problems.
Candidates have a misconception that learning the formulas will help them score well in the section. However, this is not what actually happens. Scoring well in this subject includes knowing how and when to use these formulas. There are multiple techniques that can help you solve a problem in an instant and in an easy manner.
At iQuanta, be it the JEE test series or study material, the problems included are JEE level questions. Solving these problems as per the step-by-step techniques taught by the experts helps candidates understand the logic behind the method used. Hence, the issue with candidates forgetting the formula or finding it difficult to apply the same is eliminated.
The important physics topics for IIT-JEE are Modern Physics, Current Electricity & Capacitors, Ray Optics & Wave Optics, Electromagnetic, Induction & Alternating Current, Laws of Motion & Work, Energy, Power, Rotational Motion.
iQuanta JEE course curriculum and the study materials are prepared keeping in mind the JEE trend analysis. This ensures candidates in iQuanta can focus on those topics that will ensure high scores in the exams.
Candidates must make short notes and take up the maximum benefit of the formula sheets. Solving previous year questions, solving mocks and analysing it will boost your confidence ensuring that exam stress is lowered to the minimum level.
iQuanta’s JEE test series comprises JEE level questions along with its AI-enabled mock analysis. It is then followed by doubt-solving sessions from the experts that make this cycle highly effective and personalized to your preparation strategy.
When there are many resources in your table, the outcome is chaos and stress. This is of no help when preparing for such a competitive exam. Instead of switching between too many books, it is best to stick to a structured JEE coaching that offers study material and practice questions that amp up your practice.
At iQuanta, you get access to live conceptual classes, live application classes along with a carefully crafted Physics Book that ensures that every candidate goes through all the topics, learns the basics and the types of problems that can be asked from these chapters.
Bonus Tip: Focusing on the depth of a topic is more important than covering the number of topics. Therefore, if you get access to a well-structured JEE study material along with consistent revision, it is much more valuable than having a huge pile of PDFs.
Another scoring subject among the JEE candidates is Chemistry. The subject requires a good understanding and application strategy to score the best. It can be your strongest section if you are provided with the right strategy, resources and thorough revision.
Provided below is the chemistry strategy followed by the top JEE candidates:
Chemistry Syllabus for JEE Main:
Class 11 Topics: Some Basic Concepts in Chemistry, Atomic Structure, Chemical Bonding & Molecular Structure, Thermodynamics, Equilibrium, Redox Reactions, Chemical & Ionic Equilibrium, States of Matter.

This section comprises three parts. Physical chemistry is concept driven and requires consistent numerical practice. Inorganic chemistry syllabus can be covered by referring solely to NCERT textbooks. The best way is to cover the theory with regular practice. The third part is organic chemistry that requires focus on mechanisms. Once it is clear, you must solve the reaction based questions.
iQuanta's JEE study material on Chemistry includes each section of the syllabus with simple theory explanation along with smart summaries. JEE levels MCQs are also added to practice after each section is covered for quick revision.
Understanding the theories and applying the same to problems are two completely separate ways of preparation. The doubts that do not surface on just reading come up while solving the problems. Therefore, solving questions similar to JEE Chemistry questions is very important.
If you take up JEE coaching at iQuanta, you get access to the Chemistry book that follows a chapter-wise structure comprising advanced level problems asked in IIT JEE. In our live classes, the experts teach candidates how to approach this subject logically even for inorganic chemistry that demand rote learning for a few topics.
There is nothing more effective preparation than maintaining consistency. You need to maintain a well-planned revision cycle. Make use of flash cards, formula sheets and flash cards when preparing.
We at iQuanta, follow a proven 3-tier revision strategy. This strategy ensures that the topics that have been taught are revised in detail so that all the doubts are solved and there is no confusion when it comes to solving the section in the real IIT JEE exam.
The same applies when preparing for the Chemistry section - focusing on limited resources. Stick to one resource rather than going through multiple books. A good study material is enough to clear your basics and get your application skill right.
Getting hold of iQuanta JEE books and enrolling in its JEE course is enough to help you score good marks in Chemistry section. The resources that you get access to during iQuanta JEE coaching are carefully crafted to replace your scattered PDFs with one single resource allowing you to carry out your smart and focused preparation with consistency.
Bonus Tips: Scoring the best in Chemistry section requires in depth understanding of topics and repetitive revision till the day of the IIT JEE.
Mathematics is one subject that can be mastered only through practice. Also, recognising the pattern makes all the difference. Even though your concepts are clear, if you have not mastered the skill to apply them quickly and accurately, scoring well in this subject becomes tough. Here’s how you can master this section:
Aspirants usually focus on the shortcut methods as the mathematics section demands quick and accurate responses in JEE. However, without understanding the basics behind a theorem and formulae, solving a problem becomes difficult, thus, taking up a lot of time. On the other hand, if your concept is clear, speed will follow on its own.
iQuanta is known as the best coaching for IIT not only because of its well-structured courses but also because of its quality resource material. Our iQuanta Mathematics Book includes concise theory and application-based examples that gradually increase in difficulty, similar to the JEE paper.
Marathon study before the exam doesn't work well when preparing for the Mathematics section. It's the consistency in preparation that yields the best results. You need to focus on solving problems without skipping a day. Practicing doesn't mean solving any random questions but JEE level problems.
In our live sessions, our expert mentors break down each and every problem helping students understand the concept behind it. Later, the mentors show you the shortcut tips and trips and approaches on how to solve it in less time without committing any mistakes. Furthermore, our JEE study material on Mathematics includes topic-wise structured practice questions from basic to advanced level with detailed solutions along with tips and tricks related to the topic.
The Mathematics Syllabus for JEE Main is:

iQuanta JEE course curriculum and study material are aligned with the JEE level. It covers the syllabus and the important topics in detail. This ensures that you do not waste your time juggling between random questions. Instead, you can invest your quality time on what’s more important from a JEE perspective.
This means that you need to keep notes of your weak areas, the questions that you could not solve or mark them wrong and revise it regularly. You can also solve topic wise mocks to master the weak areas.
iQuanta JEE test series and mock tests provide you with detailed performance analytics. Also, there are mock tests where you can compare your performance with your peers. This AI-driven analysis highlights the areas that need more practice in no time. Your time is saved and you can invest it on mastering the weak areas.
It is true that the Mathematics section demands a lot of problem solving, but that doesn't mean to keep piling up books and solving them. It diluted your focus. You might end up wasting a lot of time solving problems that are not relevant to your exam.
Whether it's iQuanta JEE coaching or study material, it is strictly according to the JEE syllabus. All the problems provided are as per the ongoing JEE trends and previous year questions. This ensures that your preparation is directed in the right path and exclusively IIT JEE focused.
Bonus Tip: To master the mathematics section, practice problems that are asked in the exam regularly. Do not practice the same set instead try to solve different problems that make you think.
