How to Prepare : CUET Strategy

To build a fool proof CUET strategy, understanding the CUET syllabus is crucial before you directly jump into your CUET preparation. After that, analyse the paper pattern by referring to the sample papers or by discussing with your seniors. This analysis will help you identify your weak and strong areas. Using this information, you will be able to understand which area will require more effort from your side.

If you are wondering why you may not be able to solve all the questions, keep in mind that you can master any topic in the CUET syllabus with sufficient practice. For example, students generally find Mathematics to be a tough subject. Just focus on clearing your basics, then subsequently move on to the trickier concepts; with sufficient practice and a proper CUET strategy, you can easily score 99+ percentile. Always start from the very basics.

It might take you a lot of time to solve the questions at first but always remember that first you need to work on your accuracy, and with adequate practice, you’ll automatically start taking less time to crack the solution. Solve the official CUET sample papers to get an idea of what kind of questions you’ll be facing.

Once you are confident enough to solve all types of questions from a topic, start appearing for CUET mocks and analyse them. Mocks are very important as taking them will get you into a habit of sitting for long durations in the exam. They are also very important to figure out your weaknesses, and once you spot them, you should give them more attention.

Section Wise CUET Strategy

1. CUET Strategy : Language Test

CUET language strategy

In the Section IA & IB of the CUET exam, a total of 32 languages are available to choose from. For the CUET Language section preparation, you need to have a good grasp on the grammar and vocabulary of the language of your choice. Also, developing a regular reading habit is essential as it will help you in the CUET Reading Comprehension part of the paper and later on in life as well. The RC passages will consist of 400-450 words and they’ll be 5-8 in number.

You need to select the right questions for yourself so that you don’t get stuck and waste your time on the tougher questions. For an efficient CUET Strategy for the CUET Language section, start reading newspapers and articles of different genres to gain familiarity with all the types of RCs expected in the CUET 2022 exam.

2. CUET Strategy : Domain Subjects

CUET domain strategy

The Section II of the CUET exam is the Domain tests. There are a total of 27 domains out of which a candidate has to choose a minimum of 6 subjects of their choice.

To build a CUET strategy for Domain subjects, a student should be well-versed with the subject-wise syllabus. The level of the CUET exam is the same as Class XII. So what you need to do is to build a strong fundament. Go through the NCERT books as advised by the NTA for your CUET domain subject section preparation. Do not go on reading/solving the advance level concepts without building the fundamentals. Solving advanced level questions are only going to distract you from the actual CUET syllabus and demotivate you.

Next, prepare your own notes as writing things down will also help you in remembering them. Make sure that notes should be prepared right when you are going through the chapters and then only use them while studying / revising. In this way, you also won’t have to go on exploring the entire book for a small doubt. Use different colored pens and highlight the important parts so that while revision, you can focus exclusively on them and this will also save a lot of time.
