On May 16th 2025, Justice V. Lakshminarayanan heard pleas from 13 candidates regarding a bad experience in their NEET exam. The candidates cited power outage as one of the main reasons affecting their results. The incident occured at the Avadi examination centre near Chennai where NEET exam was being held on May 4th, 2025.

Among 464 candidates, 13 candidates are worried that the power cut at NEET exam centre in Chennai will affect their results. These candidates claimed that the power cut started at 3:00 PM and continued till 4:15 PM.
