The IIM admission has taken an interesting shape this year with 4 Indian Institutes of Management – IIM Kashipur, IIM Raipur, IIM Ranchi, and IIM Tiruchiappalli – collaborating to introduce the Joint Admission Process (JAP) 2026. This step is taken to streamline the admission process, enhance transparency, and reduce the burden on applicants who want to join the prestigious IIMs.
For the very first time, aspirants will be applying to all four of these IIMs through a single application portal after the declaration of CAT 2025 results. This means less paperwork, fewer deadlines to chase, and more convenience for students.

Why Joint Admission Process (JAP) Matters?
Traditionally, each IIM runs its own admission process, obliging candidates to fill separate forms and to track multiple timelines. With JAP 2026, this cycle breaks by consolidating efforts and making the system simpler and more candidate-centric. JAP 2026 will ensure that one student application is going to be valid for all participating IIMs, thereby reducing the duplication of tasks on both sides (student and institutes) and bringing transparency & fairness to the admission process of IIM.
Role of IIM Raipur
Among the four participating IIMs, IIM Raipur has been given the responsibility of handling and coordinating the Joint Admission Process (JAP) 2026 admissions. The IIM Raipur will ensure and supervise the entire admission process, i.e., right from application gathering to interview arrangement and ensuring smooth execution across all participating IIMs.
Director-in-Charge of IIM Raipur, Prof. Sanjeev Prashar, said, “We are honored to announce the Joint Admission Process (JAP) 2026, fostering collaboration among four premier IIMs. This initiative exemplifies our commitment to resource optimization, student-centric admissions, and strengthening the IIM brand for future leaders. JAP 2026 reflects our dedication to maintaining high standards and opening new opportunities for aspiring MBA candidates.” It stated that JAP 2026 is not only reducing administrative jobs but also strengthening the collaboration among IIMs.
The introduction of JAP 2026 marks a significant yet remarkable shift in India’s admission process for management education. All four participating IIMs, IIM Kashipur, Ranchi, Raipur, and Tiruchirappalli are not only putting the admission process at ease but also enhancing the IIM brand by prioritizing convenience, efficiency, and collaboration. For management aspirants, JAP 2026 means fewer hurdles and more opportunities.
