MBA from XLRI is based on XAT scores 2026. XAT score 2026 has been declared on the official website at xatonline.in. XAT 2026 was conducted during January 2026. Results are out and students can check using their XAT 2026 scorecard using their XAT ID and password created at the time of registration. XAT exam is mandatory for admission into XLRI’s flagship MBA (HRM) or MBA (BM) courses. 

XLRI section process for PGDM comprises XAT score, academic history, and relevant work experience for the first shortlist preparation. The XLRI PGDM first shortlist will be released soon. For the final section process, XLRI conducts PI/WAT/GD rounds. You can expect XLRI calls for your preferred courses if your XAT score is between 26.5 to 36.5 marks or 95 to 99 percentile. Selection Process for XLRI MBA

To be selected for MBA at XLRI, you will need a good performance in all sections of the XAT exam including GK. XLRI offers its MBA courses in different specializations like Human Resources, Business Management, General Management, etc. The XAT exam is used for admission to XLRI’s PGDM or MBA course with specializations. XAT is conducted by XLRI for XAMI institutions.

XAT 2026 Selection Process for XLRI

Before moving to XLRI admissions, it is important to know who is eligible for the XAT 2026 exam. The eligibility for the XAT 2026 examination is based on an inclusive criteria. You only need a valid bachelor’s degree to apply. In case you are a final year student, you may still be eligible to apply for the XAT exam. You will be eligible regardless of your marks or percentage in your last qualifying exam. Work experience is not mandatory for XAT registration.

  • To apply for XAT, you must have a valid Bachelor’s degree.
  • Bachelor’s degree must be for a minimum 3 years duration.
  • If you are able to complete your graduation by June 2026, you are eligible to apply.
  • XAT 2026 does not have an age limit. 
  • You may take the exam as many times as required since there is no attempt limit.
  • XAT is suitable for both freshers and working professionals.

XAT Score and its Importance

XAT exam score is the basis for the XLRI selection process. Once the XAT score is released, students who have taken the exam may estimate their chances of admission based on their scores. You will require a good performance in all sections of the XAT exam to be eligible to study the MBA programme at XLRI. XLRI considers your XAT score and section-wise scores too. 

With a XAT score between 95 to 99, you can target XLRI calls for the interview round. On an average, you’ll need a XAT score between 26.5 to 36.5 overall for receiving XLRI calls.

Does XLRI Accept CAT?

No, XLRI does not accept CAT for admission. CAT is a national exam mainly used for IIMs and other B-school admission processes. XLRI conducts the XAT exam and accepts XAT scores for admission to its flagship MBA course. The XAT exam has been running in the industry for over 75 years. Its an evolving and dynamic exam used for selecting ideal candidates for MBA. 

For admission to its Fellow Programme in Management and Executive Fellow Programme in Management, XLRI accepts tests such as UGC-NET, UGC-CSIR-NET, GATE and

CEED. XLRI’s selection process for its flagship courses- MBA (HRM) and MBA (BM) is based on XAT exam scores not CAT. Apart from the entrance test score, XLRI also checks the academic background, work experience and other details of a candidate.

Eligibility Criteria for XLRI

After the release of the XAT scores, XAT accepting colleges will release their cutoffs. XLRI Jamshedpur MBA eligibility for the BM and HRM programmes requires completion of a simple Bachelor’s degree that is at least 3 years. Students in the final year of their graduate studies who are completing their course by June 12th, 2026 may apply for XLRI. If your final exams for the Bachelor’s degree are not completed by June 12th, 2026, you’ll not be eligible to apply for the course.

Candidates interested in PGDM (GM) must have a bachelor’s degree of at least 3 years. You may apply regardless of the discipline of your degree. It is compulsory to have at least 3 years of work experience as of March 31st, 2026. It is compulsory to fulfil the eligibility criteria for XLRI to take admission into its flagship management courses in 2026.

XLRI Admission Process

Admission criteria for XLRI Jamshedpur is divided into two stages. Stage one includes selection based on XAT scores and academic background of the candidate. At this stage, all those candidates who have scored low marks are not in the target for XLRI calls. They may consider admission into other B-schools. The second stage in the XLRI admission process is the PI round or WAT/GD rounds followed by a final merit list. For the PI round, students must be prepared with a solid answer for different types of personal profile evaluation questions.
