CUET 2026 Making SchemeÂ
Each subject paper carries a maximum of 250 marks, with 50 questions bearing 5 marks each. As mentioned above you can appear for up to 5 subjects. This means the maximum total marks in CUET 2026 can go up to 1,250.
For every correct answer, 5 marks will be awarded, and for every incorrect answer, 1 mark will be deducted. No marks are deducted for unattempted questions.
Raw Marks vs. Percentile: What Universities Actually Look At?
CUET accepting universities do not simply look at your raw marks. They use your NTA normalized score and percentile to prepare merit lists. Your percentile indicates the percentage of candidates who scored equal to or below you in a given session.
For example, if you score in the 95th percentile, you have scored better than 95% of all candidates who appeared for that subject.
