Registration Process for UCEED Entrance Exam

Below is the detailed breakdown of registration process for UCEED entrance exam:

1. Online Application: Visit uceed.iitb.ac.in and register using a valid email ID and contact number.

2. Fill the Application Form: Enter your personal details and academic information, and select your desired city preference (a maximum of three cities are usually allowed).

3. Upload Required Documents: Scanned copies of following are required:

• Passport-size photo
• Signature
• Category Certificate (if required)
• Other required documents

4. Pay the Application Fee:

• Indian Nationals:
  • Female Candidates (all categories): Rs. 1900/-
  • SC, ST, PwD Candidates: Rs. 1900/-
  • All Other Candidates: Rs. 3800/-
• Foreign Nationals (holders of OCI/PIO cards issued BEFORE March 4, 2021):
  • Female Candidates and PwD Candidates: Rs. 2000/-
  • All Other Candidates: Rs. 4000/-

5. Submit the online application form and keep a prinout for future reference.

6. Application fee is non-refundable.

Eligibility Criteria for IITs through UCEED

• To apply for admission to the B.Des programs of the participating institutes, i.e., IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Indore, IIT Roorkee and IIITDM Jabalpur, an applicant is required to fulfil ALL the following three criteria simultaneously.

• Criterion 1 – Age limit:
  The candidate should have been born on or after October 1, 2000, if belonging to the OPEN/EWS/OBC-NCL category and on or after October 1, 1995, if belonging to the SC, ST or PwD category.

• Criterion 2 – UCEED qualification:
  The candidate should have qualified, i.e., obtained a rank, in UCEED 2025.

• Criterion 3 – Qualifying examination:
  The candidate should have passed all five subjects in the qualifying examination (Class XII or equivalent) in 2024 or 2025. Those who appeared for the first time in their qualifying examination in 2023 or earlier are NOT eligible.

• Candidates from the Science Stream (at 10+2 level) with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as subjects are eligible to apply to all the seven participating institutes (IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Indore, IIT Roorkee and IIITDM Jabalpur). Candidates from any other stream (Science without Mathematics or Physics or Chemistry, Commerce, and Arts & Humanities) are eligible to apply to IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Hyderabad and IIT Indore.

• The candidates appearing for their qualifying examination (Class XII or equivalent) in 2025 should ensure that, (a) all parts of their final examination are completed by the date of application for admission, and (b) proof of having passed the qualifying examination with required eligibility is submitted by September 30, 2025 to the admitting institute.

UCEED Admission Process to IITs

The admission to IITs through UCEED happens in a centralized way:

1. Appear for UCEED entrance exam: Applicants must appear to UCEED exam happens every year in the month of January.

2. Check Eligibility Criteria for UCEED exam.

3. Apply for B.Des Admissions: After the announcement of UCEED results, candidates must apply separately for B.Des admissions through the UCEED admission portal.

4. Choice Filling & Seat Allotment: Candidates are required to fill preferences for IITs and to choose the programs. There are 3 rounds of UCEED seat allotment based on rank and seat availability. Once candidates pay the seat acceptance fee, it confirms the admission of the candidates.

5. Document verification & Final Admission: Verification of documents will be done at respective IIT. After confirmation and admission fee payment, final admission is granted.
