A recent article about IIM Trichy placement report is going viral on the internet. It mentions that 59 students of IIM Trichy got no placements. Only 27% of the students get a package of 20 lakhs+. Well, the numbers are true, but what is the reason behind the same? It does create a panic amongst the students but let’s understand the reasons and why you shouldn’t worry about the same.
- Job market – The job market is struggling everywhere, it is not just about India or IIM Trichy.
- Well we are seeing 59 students are unplaced but the institute managed to get 325 students placed all at the CTC of minimum 11 lakhs.
- Colleges don’t guarantee 100% placements and it isn’t even mention in their brochure.
- Well, I do understand that 59 unemployed folks are a big number, but again it is not one of the top 20 colleges and also, we need to understand that are all the folks really employable.
- Corporate need skills, they can’t just randomly hire anyone in order to give a job. A lot of MBA graduates just chill and party, don’t care about learning or do anything and doesn’t even maintain a good academic track record in the B-school. In this case, they can’t expect a job right if they have actually not learned anything.
- Luck – Well often not talk about, sometimes you are going through a bad phase and it’s your bad luck but again you can’t really help it.
