In India, when it comes to MBA admissions, most aspirants focus only on IIMs. However, many Non-IIM institutes, such as FMS Delhi, SPJIMR, MDI Gurgaon, IITs, and others, offer world-class MBA programs with excellent placements and return on investments (ROI). For taking admission in these institutes, you are required to apply separately by filling out individual forms on their official websites. Missing the deadlines of non-IIMs means losing out on a top B-school despite having a great CAT percentile. This guide will walk you through why applying to non-IIMs is important, the common misconception about the “non-IIM portal,” a priority-wise list of non-IIM colleges, form deadlines, and average packages.

Clearing the Confusion: What is the Non-IIM Portal?
Many students find themselves in a dilemma when they see the option “Register for Non-IIM Institutions for CAT” during CAT registration. Students should understand that this portal is not for them. It is for the institutes that want to accept CAT scores. For example, if an institute wants to use CAT scores, they are required to register here to access the data.
Students need to understand that you cannot apply to non-IIM through the CAT form. For each Non-IIM like FMS, IIT, TISS, etc., you need to visit their website and apply separately to each of them. The last date of filling forms and form filling are different for every college. If you get selected, you will get interview calls from Non-IIMs separately.
