Interviewer: Hi Kashvi, How are you doing today?
CAT Topper: I am doing great sir.
Interviewer: Kashvi, today we love for people to understand your story, about your journey in this preparation so why you don’t start us of by telling a bit about yourself, about scores and then we will take it from there.
CAT Topper: Hi ! I am Kashvi Bhatia and I scored a percentile of 99.53 in CAT and I hailed from the City of Nawab i.e, Lucknow, and currently a third year student pursuing B.Com (Hons) from Shri Ram College of Commerce (Delhi University). I love listening music and theatre as well.
Interviewer: “That’s amazing wide variety of things, So 99.53%ile that astounding and congratulations on that. Have you expected such percentile when started CAT preparation.”
CAT Topper: “Not at all, I was not even expecting 95%ile !”
Interviewer: ” As a retrospect, because you have already completed journey. What would be that one thing which you would like to tell viewers or aspirants that definitely not to do?”
CAT Topper: Don’t be afraid because I remember in the start of my journey when I used to fumble a lot with my preparation and continuously think will I able to do this or not?. So, don’t afraid that’s the first thing I want to say to the aspirants.
Interviewer: Wow and that definitely added lot of weight to your CAT preparation as well !
CAT Topper: Basically the thing fear is something bad and demotivates you a lot. In the starting, I was literally done with everything about not scoring well. I have told me that “Kashvi sit down because you don’t need to figure out everything from day 1”. All you need is the courage to begin and that is the most important step that you take when starting the CAT preparation journey. That’s how I brought myself out of that. So, just tell yourself you don’t need everything to get figured out, be calm, be patient and you will reach there eventually.
Interviewer: That’s great! When people start this journey, they face lot of ups and downs there. Ups are great but downs are so difficult to bounce back. So, in your entire journey, What could be that one period where you think you lost hope to venture out somewhere else and how did you bounce back from that situation?
CAT Topper: I was still in college and really tough for me to balance my CAT prep with college because obviously have to maintain a college GPA to score well in my internals. So in between I had lot of internals, lot of assignments going on and simultaneously have to do my CAT prep with sacrificing my sleep barely getting 2-3 hours of sleep. Because of few reasons, my scores dropped down drastically and from getting 95-99%ile to dropped as 70-80 percentile, at that point of time, It was like – “I won’t be able to do that”. So at that time, what came as a savior for me is Inter college competition which was held at IIM Indore and the moment I stepped into the campus, I eventually thought – “This is the dream and I really want to be a part of an IIM”. For a motivating part, my parents were always there with me and also iQuanta faculty were always available for help.
Interviewer: That’s the great thing that iQuanta faculty has always motivated you. What are the three things according to you that you have gotten just by enrolling into iQuanta that have changed your journey a lot?
CAT Topper: Constant Motivation. As I said I was very demotivated in the starting of my journey, so faculties were a constant motivation for me, they said it’s fine you will be able to do it, scoring less is not a big deal you will eventually improve. Whenever i found any doubt they were also there even for a dumbest one. I found iQuanta faculties was really patient when I was asking doubts because it was like if you were asking constant doubts to someone, they were little impatient but faculties were really supporting and helpful always to me. The best part of iQuanta they provided so many questions in the form of Books, daily practice questions, application and lot to do. Mostly people think that I am out of questions, now what should I do but this case never happened with me because I eventually got enough questions from iQuanta’s resources for practice and that’s the best part in my CAT preparation journey.
Interviewer: In your CAT prep journey, there are lot of people who motivates you but some people are there who let’s you feel low or discouraging you at a slope. So, what would you like to tell them by looking straight to the camera?
CAT Topper: There are lot of people around me who discourages about the fact that I won’t happen. But see again it’s not over till it’s completely over and i surpassed this expectation. So anybody who are facing the same discouragement then there ‘s always “Kuch to log kahenge, logo ka kam h kehna”. Listen from one ear and let it out from the other, and again its not over till its over. So, even if you started on the low note, so just keep on going and you will reach that high note that you wanna reach someday.
