IIT Kanpur will organise the JEE Advanced 2025 exam at 224 centres, including 222 cities across India. It has two international centres in Abu Dhabi and Kathmandu. Notably, the Dubai centre has been removed for this year. The exam centres are distributed under seven zones managed by IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Kanpur, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Hyderabad and IIT Roorkee.
During JEE Advanced 2025 registration, candidates should choose up to 10 preferred cities. While authorities strive to allocate one of these preferences, there may also be rare cases where an alternate city is assigned. JEE Advanced Exam Centre Selection Process
Candidates must choose up to 10 preferred cities while filling out the JEE Advanced application form. The exam authorities will try to allot a centre in a selected city. However, due to capacity constraints or logistical challenges, there might be rare situations in which candidates are assigned a different exam centre.
Therefore, students should select their cities based on convenience, travel feasibility, and backup options. Once allotted, the authorities generally do not entertain requests for changes in exam centres.

Things Not Allowed at JEE Advanced Exam Centre
- Electronic gadgets: Mobile phones, smartwatches, Bluetooth devices, earphones, fitness bands, calculators, etc.
- Stationery and papers: Personal logbooks, notebooks, rough sheets or printed/written materials.
- Bags and wallets: Handbags, backpacks, purses and so forth.
- Jewellery and accessories: Metallic items, jewellery, or any other accessories.
- Food and drinks: Except for a transparent water bottle, candidates are not allowed to carry food items.

JEE Advanced Exam Centre – FAQs
Candidates will be informed of their assigned JEE Advanced exam centre only once the admit card is released. It is not possible to know the exact test centre beforehand. The exam authority allocates the centre based on the candidate’s top city preference mentioned during the application process.
The anticipated JEE Main cutoff percentile for eligibility to appear in JEE Advanced 2025 is projected to be between 93 and 95 for General category candidates, 91 to 93 for OBC and EWS categories, and 82 to 86 for SC candidates. These estimates are based on previous years’ patterns and exam difficulty levels.
