NEET UG Counselling 2025 Latest News: The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has released the extension notice of the schedule of Round 1 of NEET UG counselling. According to the latest notice, the schedule has been extended further owing to ongoing court cases and several requests from NRI/ PwBD aspirants. The registration for round 1 is extended up to 6th August, 2025 (3:00 PM). Moreover, the choice filling for Round-1 is extended up to 7th August, 2025 and Choice Loking for Round-1 window will remain open from August 6 to 7, 2025. Why NEET UG Counselling 2025 Dates are Extended?
The NEET UG counselling dates for Round 1 have undergone revision multiple times in recent days. All the notice specifies a different reason for every extension. As per the latest notification, the reason behind the extension of Round-1 of UG Counselling 2025 dates is various requests from NRI/ PwBD aspirants and court cases. Previously, the authorities had paused the choice filling and choice locking in Round 1 of NEET UG counselling without sharing any reason behind the suspension. However, the decision has drawn strong reactions from thousands of candidates. Apart from this, the Round-1 schedule of UG Counselling 2025 was also earlier extended by the authorities to address requests from PwBD candidates awaiting certification from the designated Disability Centres.Â

Recently, the MCC have also released a notice for verification of the Seat Matrix for NEET UG Counselling 2025. They have requested all the participating colleges/Institutes under AIQ, Central Universities, Deemed Universities, AIIMS colleges, JIPMER (Puducherry & Karaikal), and B.Sc (Nursing) institutes taking part in NEET UG Counselling 2025 for MBBS/BDS/B.Sc (Nursing) programs to confirm the accuracy of the tentative/provisional vacancies indicated in the seat matrix. This decision was taken to prevent any discrepancies in the NEET UG counselling process 2025.
