Despite all measures to ensure smooth examination, 2000+ students from Indore have reported failure of NEET exam conducting authorities to keep a power backup for dealing with a continued power outage. Students across 18 centres in Indore faced difficulty in writing the exam under poor lighting conditions.
Aggrieved, an Indore medical aspirant who suffered because of the lack of electricity has filed a petition before the MP HC stating that the power outage impacted the exam performance. As per the counsel of the petitioners, it was the duty of the exam centre officials to keep a power backup in consideration of the red alert issued by the Meteorological Department for extreme weather conditions.
The next date of hearing has been set to June 30th, 2025. Until then, the results of 75 affected students are withheld. 100+ students in Indore are praying for the MP HC to order the NTA to conduct a re-examination ensuring fairness and transparency. According to the affected students, writing the NEET Exam in poor lighting is not fair. Students affected are suffering mental anguish and extreme stress amidst the ongoing uncertainty.
