JEE Main Session 2 Result Out- JEE Main Percentile Score
A percentile score reflects a candidate’s relative performance compared to all other test takers in a particular session. It is calculated by scaling raw scores to a range of 100 to 0 for each session. According to official explanations:
“A Percentile Score represents the percentage of candidates who scored equal to or less than a particular score in that examination session. As a result, the top scorer of each session is assigned a Percentile of 100, which is the ideal score. All other scores between the highest and lowest are converted accordingly into their respective percentile values.”
Difference Between Percentage and Percentile
Percentage | Percentile |
A value out of 100 that shows the marks scored | Indicates the relative position of a candidate among all test-takers |
Represents the actual marks obtained | Shows the percentage of candidates scoring less than or equal to you |
Example: 75% means you scored 75 out of 100 | Example: 90 percentile means 90% of candidates scored less than or equal to you |
