The National Testing Agency is responsible for conducting the Joint Entrance Examination – Main (JEE Main). The JEE Main exam notification PDF shall be released on the NTA website at jeemain.nta.nic.in. The exam is held in two sessions in computer-based test mode across the nation and also outside the country. The JEE Main session 1 exam notification is expected to be released in October 2027, for which the exam shall be held in January 2027. Aspirants who are preparing for the JEE Main exam should stay updated on the important dates, eligibility criteria, application process, exam pattern, syllabus, etc., to ensure smooth preparation for the exam.

JEE Main Exam Date 2027

The JEE Main exam date has been officially released by NTA on its website for JEE Main session 1 and 2, i.e. January and April sessions. Hence, the candidates who register successfully for JEE Main 2027 exam will be able to appear for the exam as per the date mentioned on the JEE Main admit card.

JEE Main 2027 Notification PDF 

The National Testing Agency (NTA) shall release the official JEE Main 2027 Notification PDF on its website. It is expected that the notification will be released in October 2026. Candidates are advised to visit the NTA website or iQuanta website to stay updated with the latest updates regarding JEE Main exam. Students can find the complete details about registration, exam dates, syllabus, and marking pattern. 

JEE Main 2027 Eligibility

Students who are willing to apply for the JEE Main 2027 exam must ensure that they fulfil the JEE Main eligibility criteria. The NTA will release the eligibility, consisting of age limit, educational qualification, number of attempts, etc., in the brochure.

JEE Main 2027 Application Form

NTA will release the JEE Main 2027 application form online on its website in October 2026 (expected). Once the forms are released, the aspirants will be able to apply online for the same, provided they fulfill the eligibility criteria. Filling the online form includes registration, creating login credentials, form filling, uploading all the required documents, selecting exam city, payment of application fees, etc.

Steps to fill JEE Main Application Form

Step 1 – Go to the official website: jeemain.nta.nic.in and nta.ac.in.

Step 2 – On the homepage, click on the link for the JEE Main Application Form. 

Step 3 – Click on New Registration and fill in the required details and click on submit button to complete the registration. 

Note: Once the JEE Main registration is successful, candidates will receive an email and a message on their registered mobile number and ID with details of the application form number and password.  

Step 4 – After successful registration, candidates will be redirected to fill out the detailed application form. 

Step 5 – Upload a scanned image of a passport-size photograph and signature as per the defined dimensions and size.

Step 6 – Pay the JEE Main application fee through Net banking/UPI or debit/credit card. 

Step 7 – After the successful payment of the fee, the application form will be automatically submitted. Make sure to take its print out for further use. 

JEE Main Application Fee

All the candidates who apply for JEE Main must ensure that they have paid the application fee as per their category for their forms to be considered by the Commission. The fee can be paid in online mode or through cash using e-challan. Given below is the JEE Main application fee for male and female candidates based on last year’s data. JEE Mains 2027 Application Form Correction

The NTA authorities will release a specific date for the candidates to edit their application forms if they have made an error in it. However, only certain details are allowed to be updated. Candidates have to login using their credentials to make corrections. 

JEE Main 2027 Admit Card

Those candidates who apply successfully for the JEE Main 2027 exam will be eligible to download the JEE Main admit card 2027 from the NTA website. The admit card will have to be downloaded separately for session 1 and session 2. The admit card is expected to be released in the 3rd week of January for the session 1 exam. 

The admit card is an important piece of document that has the address of the exam centre, exam date and time, candidate’s name, picture, signature and the details of the paper. Without carrying the admit card of JEE Main, candidates will not be allowed to appear for the exam.

JEE Main Exam Center 2027

NTA shall release the JEE Main exam centre along with the notification. Candidates will be allowed to select up to four exam centres based on their preferences.

JEE Main Previous Year Question Papers

For the aspirants preparing for the JEE Main 2027 exam, previous year question papers are a great source to gather relevant information about the exam. JEE Main previous year question inform candidates about the weightage of topics that will be covered in the exam as well as the difficulty level. Candidates who are preparing for the entrance exam are advised to go through JEE Main PYQ of the past 10 years to gather the form of questions that are asked repeatedly. It will also help in preparing certain topics well and strengthen their practice methods. 

JEE Main Cut Off 2027

The National Testing Agency will release JEE Main 2027 Cut-Off on the official website, aligned with the result. The cut-off mark is the minimum percentile score that the candidates who appeared for JEE Main exam will have to secure to qualify for appearing in JEE Advanced exam.

JEE Main Rank list 2027

NTA releases the JEE Main rank list 2027 along with the result. The rank can be checked on the NTA website by logging in using the candidate’s registration number and password. The rank list is for the purpose of taking admission in the participating college and opt for a course based on it. The authorities will compile the NTA scores after the normalization process of marks secured by the candidates. While preparing the rank list, the best score of two sessions will be considered. 

JEE Main Counselling Process 2027

The JEE Main Counselling Process is conducted for admission to the NITs, IIITs, IITs, and GFTIs and will be organised by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA). Candidates who qualify for the JEE Main 2027 exam will have to register themselves for JoSAA counselling for admission to the preferred institutes.

JEE Main Seat Allotment 2027

JoSAA will release the JEE Main 2027 seat allotment results in online mode at its official portal. Only those candidates who will complete the JoSAA registration and choice-filling process will be considered for the JEE Main seat allotment process. As an online JEE Main counselling 2027 will be conducted by JoSAA in several rounds, JEE Main Seat Allotment will also be announced accordingly. After each round of seat allotment, candidates will be provided with a particular window to decide whether they will accept the admission or proceed for next round. Candidates will have to select out of float, freeze, slide or withdraw during the seat allotment process of JEE Main 2027.

Each year more than 13 lakh students appear for JEE Main exam, each for session 1 and session 2. Hence, the competition is fierce. As the exam is held in two sessions, candidates should prepare strategically for the exam to get admission to India’s top engineering institutes, including NITs, IIITs, GFTIs.
