Validity : Both the GMAT Focus edition and the original ones have a 5 year validity.

These are the key differences that the GMAT exam has gone through. Now we’ll discuss these differences in detail.

GMAT Vs GMAT Focus In Detail

1. Number of Sections

In the GMAT Vs. GMAT focus editions, two sections have been removed and one new section is added.

GMAT Orginal Version :

  • Analytical Writing Assessment
  • Quantitative Reasoning
  • Verbal Reasoning
  • Integrated Reasoning

GMAT Focus Version :

  • Quantitative Reasoning
  • Verbal Reasoning
  • Data Insights

2. Sentence Correction & Geometry Removed

The Verbal section in the GMAT exam will not have Sentence correction questions anymore. Same with the Geometry Section in the Quantitative section.

3. Less Question, Reduced Time

While comparing GMAT Vs. GMAT Focus, the GMAT focus edition will have lesser questions and lesser time.

The original GMAT was a 3 hour 7 minutes paper with a total of 80 questions to solve.

The GMAT Focus edition will be 2 hour 15 minutes long with a total of 64 questions to solve.

4. Bookmark and Edit Feature Introduced

The GMAT Focus edition now includes two new features.

One useful tool is the bookmark function, which lets you select a certain topic and save it for later reference.

Three answers can be edited using the edit option.

5. Select Colleges to Apply After GMAT

One other benefit of the GMAT Focus Edition is that, once your scores are in, you can pick the universities you want to attend. You can evaluate your results in the GMAT Focus and then use that information to strategically choose the colleges that best fit your profile.
