Campus Life at ISB Hyderabad

ISB is unique in the sense that its PGP program is only for one year. So, everything that you would learn in a two-year program is condensed to fit into one year. This means that during your stay at ISB, you’re going to have a fully packed schedule. Not just with classes, assignments, and group work, but also with recreational activities and parties. You learn to adapt to make time for yourself amidst all the requirements of the courses. It is going to be a constant struggle between appreciating how the program is changing you for the better and feeling desperate that you would not be able to do it.

ISB Hyderabad Building

The ISB fraternity is what makes it all bearable. Almost every day, as soon as your assignments are done, you’ll get a text. It will be an invite to either chill or party. Hanging out with people in the same boat as you, you let out your burdens. After every set of exams, the clubs organize various events. This gives you a platform to take a breather before going back to the hectic lifestyle. There will be the stand-up comedy club with its stand-up performances and the music club with its jams, among others.

ISB Hyderabad has one of the best infrastructures designed to create a learning ecosystem. There are also swimming pools, football grounds, sports courts, and gyms where you can maintain your physical well-being. ISB provides two types of accommodation: studio accommodation and shared rooms. The studio will have a bedroom, living room, kitchen, washroom, and balcony. They come fully equipped with all the necessities such as a fridge, microwave, toaster, stove, and the necessary utensils in the kitchen. In the living room, there will be a TV, a sofa set, a cabinet, and a sofa set. Do I even need to mention the washroom and bedroom then? You are provided with everything you could ever need. Even a cloth stand where you hang your wet clothes for drying. That is if you choose not to avail yourself of the in-house laundry facility on campus.

At ISB, you are taught by some of the best professors from renowned global institutions. Apart from the faculty from the associate schools (Wharton, Kellogg, and London Business School), there are also expert professors from others. Students are encouraged to look at scenarios from different perspectives. This is encouraged by the fact that each batch comprises people from hugely diverse backgrounds. You are assigned a different study each month. By the time you’re done with one year, you will have built a network with almost the entirety of your batch. Your lawyer groupmate might have a different perspective on things than your engineer groupmate or your techy self. Every single day, you will learn something new.

For the first 6 months, your biggest stress will most probably be your academics. Towards the seventh month is when the placement process begins.  The next few months will be about perfecting your CV, prepping yourself for the GD & the interview rounds, and striving to get placed in a role and company of your dreams. At the end of it, you might not get the role that you wanted, but you will not be disappointed with what you get. Both domestic and international firms, all top players in their respective sectors, come for placements. You will walk away with a significant package and offer letter from renowned companies.

Here, coffee and 10-minute naps are going to be your new normal. You will learn to set your priorities in the most effective order. You will spend 12 – 14 hours every day on your academics. You will evolve and become someone ready for any of the challenges of the corporate world. Life at ISB is an experience. One that is unique, dynamic, and vibrant.
