The Indian Institute of Management Jammu (IIM Jammu), on 30th June, 2025, announced that it gets two major international accreditations for its flagship MBA program, namely, the Business Graduate Association (BGA) and European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD). With the recognition, IIM joins a group of only 5 out of the 21 IIMs to hold both accreditations within a single remarkable year. The BGA accreditation review began in January 2025 with a peer review team visit, followed by the EFMD evaluation in March 2025. What is BGA Accreditation?
The BGA Accreditation is a whole-school accreditation that is focused on positive impact, responsible management and lifelong learning. BGA accreditation is a consultative and non-prescriptive quality assurance achievement awarded to business institutes that can clearly demonstrate an increasing impact on their students and communities over a measurable period. All BGA accredited institutions use BGA’s Continous Impact Model (CIM), which assesses the improvement across a range of metrics which involves institution’s intent, graduation achievement, value creation, scholarship, ecosystem, and the society.
What is EFMD Accreditation?
The EFMD Accreditation is the most thorough program accreditation system for business and/or management degrees and courses. It covers full range of academic programs offered by any institution. EFMD programme accreditation is a complementary evaluation tool available to the EQUIS accredited schools, which aim at further differentiating some of their programmes. It focuses on the strategic relevance and development of the programme.

How IIM Jammu Achieved This Milestone?
- IIM Jammu laid the groundwork with the formation of its Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) in 2023, which monitored performance metrics, implemented feedback systems, and worked on curriculum modernization.
- The breakthrough was IIM Jammu’s MoU with EGADE Business School—a globally ranked institution with “Triple Crown” accreditations (AMBA, EQUIS, AACSB). This collaboration enables joint faculty research, student exchange programs and global exposure to management trends and practices.
- In April 2025, IIM Jammu’s MBA program was included into the CFA University Affiliation Program which was the global benchmarkin finance education. This affiliation ensures that student gains curriculum aligned with international finance standards.
Other top IIMs such as Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Calcutta, Indore, and Kozhikode hold international accreditation while IIM Indore and Calcutta are “Triple Crown” accredited institutions (AACSB, AMBA, EQUIS).
