- College of Engineering, Guindy (CEG), Chennai: Established in 1794 as a School of Survey. It is the oldest technical institution in India and Asia.
- Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee: Originally established as Thomason College of Civil Engineering in 1847.
- College of Engineering, Pune: Established in 1854 and is the third oldest engineering college in India.
- Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology (IIEST), Shibpur: Established in 1856 as Bengal Engineering College.
- Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute (VJTI), Mumbai: Established in 1887 as the Victoria Jubilee Technical Institute.
- National Institute of Technology (NIT) Patna: Established in 1886 as Bihar School of Engineering.
- Jadavpur University, Kolkata: Established in 1906.
