Why Does Consistency Matter in CAT Preparation

Being consistent in your CAT preparation does not necessarily mean that you need to bind yourself to a fixed schedule and study daily. The common misconception which most CAT aspirants have is that if you don’t study daily, you will forget concepts and lose track. This belief and the notions surrounding consistent patterns are not real. A real story of Abhiraj Singh who started his CAT preparation about 6 to 7 months before the actual exam reveals some essential points to consider.

  • CAT Mock tests are similar to the actual exam.
  • Starting with taking CAT mock tests can be challenging as it is difficult to maintain the time limit and accuracy level.
  • LRDI and Verbal sections of the CAT exam require practice but not daily.
  • Daily practice for Quant is essential as it helps build accuracy and speed.
  • Success is not a result but a state of mind. If you believe you can do it, you will be able to do it easily.
  • Consistency is a mindset not a routine, being consistent requires patience and adjustments to life’s natural momentum rather than strict timelines and set of rules.

How Many Mocks Should I Write For CAT 2026?

Although the iQuanta CAT 2026 course will provide 35 mock tests and 45 sectionals, most students are not able to complete all the mock tests before CAT. A question then arises as to how many mocks should I write for CAT 2026? What is the ideal number? The answer is simple. There is no limit to how many mock tests you should write before the actual exam. From 5-10 mocks to 20-30 mocks, the number of mock tests you take depend on your personal speed, schedule and consistency.

  • iQuanta’s recent achiever, Abhiraj Singh, was able to crack CAT 2025 with a 99+ percentile by attempting only 20 mock tests.
  • You can practice 20+ mock tests, if you have the time and space. It is more important to build speed and accuracy.
  • There is no ideal number of CAT mock tests you should write before the actual exam, the number depends on individual strengths and weaknesses.
  • It is expected that students write at least 30-35 mock tests before the CAT exam.
  • It is not possible to take all the mock tests if you begin your preparations a few months before the CAT. As a result, attempt as many mock tests as possible. You can buy the iCAT mocks 2026 for more practice.
