The Common University Entrance Test for Undergraduate programmes, popularly known as CUET UG, is an entrance examination for students seeking admission to undergraduate courses such as BA, BSc, BCom, etc. More than 250+ universities consider CUET scores for UG admission. The candidates who are keen on taking admission to CUET participating universities should ensure that they are aware of the CUET UG fee structure based on the number of subjects selected.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has not yet released the official CUET UG information bulletin, however, based on last year we have shared the CUET UG 2027 registration fee. CUET UG 2027 Registration Fees: Expected Category-Wise Fee Structure
As per the CUET 2026 information bulletin, the candidates can select up to five subjects. The base fee covers up to three subjects. An additional fee is applicable for each extra subject added. The expected fee for CUET 2027 is given in the table below.

CUET UG 2027 Fee for General Category
The General candidates need to pay Rs. 1000 as a registration fee for up to three subjects. For every additional subject that they select, they would need to pay an additional Rs. 400 per subject.Â
For example:
- 3 subjects: Rs. 1,000
- 4 subjects: Rs. 1,400
- 5 subjects: Rs. 1,800
It is advised that the candidates select the subjects carefully as per the eligibility requirements of their preferred universities and courses. Candidates must take note that the fee is stated based on last year’s notification; in case any changes are made for the CUET 2027 exam, the same shall be updated here as well.Â
CUET UG 2027 Fee for OBC-NCL and EWS Candidates
The candidates who belong to the OBC NCL and EWS categories have to pay Rs. 900 for up to three subjects. For taking up extra subject, they need to pay Rs. 375.
The expected fee calculation is:
- 3 subjects: Rs. 900
- 4 subjects: Rs. 1,275
- 5 subjects: Rs. 1,650
Candidates who wish to take the OBC-NCL category benefits should ensure that they meet the eligibility requirements prescribed for the category. The candidates should be covered under the Central List of OBC-NCL to claim the benefits.
CUET UG 2027 Fee for SC, ST, PwD, PwBD and Third Gender Candidates
The candidates who belong to the SC, ST, PwD, PwBD and Third Gender categories have to pay a base registration fee of Rs 800 for up to three subjects. The expected additional charge is ₹350 for each extra subject.
The estimated fee would be:
- 3 subjects: Rs. 800
- 4 subjects: Rs. 1,150
- 5 subjects: Rs. 1,500
Candidates claiming SC, ST, PwD, PwBD and Third Gender benefits should make sure that they have the relevant certificates and documents ready as per the requirements.
What is CUET UG 2027 Registration Fee for Centres Outside India?
The candidates who are appearing for the CUET 2027 exam with an outside examination centre have to pay a higher amount of fee as compared to the ones who have their centres in India.Â
Based on the CUET UG 2026 fee structure, the fee was Rs. 4,500 for up to three subjects. The additional charge of Rs. 1,800 is added for each extra subject.
The estimated payment would be:
- 3 subjects: Rs. 4,500
- 4 subjects: Rs. 6,300
- 5 subjects: Rs. 8,100
How is the CUET UG 2027 Registration Fee Calculated?
The CUET UG application fee is calculated based on the following specified two factors
1. Candidate’s Category
The CUET registration fee differs as per the category of the candidate. This means that the candidates belonging to General, OBC-NCL/EWS, and SC/ST/PwD/PwBD/Third Gender candidates have varied fee structures.
2. Number of Subjects Selected
The base CUET registration fee covers up to three subjects. Those who choose to have additional subjects have to pay an extra amount for each additional paper. A candidate can select up to 5 subjects maximum including the Language and General Aptitude Test.
CUET UG 2027 Application Fee Payment Mode
The CUET fee can be done through online modes only. A candidate can choose to pay the CUET UG 2028 application fee via:
- Debit Card
- Credit Card
- Net Banking
- UPI
- Wallet
Candidates must complete the payment to ensure that their application form is successfully submitted and considered. If the fee is not paid timely, then the candidate will not be issued the admit card to appear for the CUET 2027 examination.
Is the CUET UG 2027 Application Fee Refundable?
According to NTA, the CUET application fee is non-refundable. Candidates must make sure to check and cross verify all the details before making the payment. THe following details must be cross checked carefully:Â
- Candidate’s name
- Category of the candidate
- Selected subjects
- Examination centre preferences
- Course and university eligibility requirements
- Payment amount
What Happens if the CUET UG Registration Fee Is Successful but the Confirmation Page Is Not Generated?
If a student has made the payment and has not received the confirmation page, then they must contact the concerned bank, payment gateway or NTA helpline immediately. Once the CUET UG 2027 registration fee is paid or not paid, the candidates should:
- Check whether the payment status is successful.
- Download the confirmation page.
- Save or print the payment receipt.
- Note down the application number.
When Will CUET UG 2027 Registration Begin?
The CUET 2027 registration is expected to begin in January 2027, as it began at the same time last year as well.
