Initially, everything at FMS is scarily intimidating. There is unimaginable stress and no matter how hard you try, there always seems to be someone better than you. At FMS, everything is designed to create a collaborative environment. Contrary to IIMs and other top B-Schools, there are no relative or percentage grading systems. Grades are assigned based on absolute marks. This eliminates the occurrence of a hyper-competitive culture. From solving the day-to-day problems of the students and bringing in guest speakers to organizing events, company fairs, and placements. Everything at FMS is managed by the students. All this encourages the development of more collaborative leaders who are better at working with others and take decisions based on consensus.

The campus is located very close to prominent institutions such as the Hindu College, St.Stephens, and SRCC. This means that massive fests are happening almost around every year. Apart from the cultural events and competitions, there are also many industry and academic events. Every week, you have elite executives coming in to share their learnings and experiences. Students at FMS are also passionate about competitions; especially case study competitions.

When it comes to placements, you can find the bonding spirit of FMS once again rearing its head. As a junior, prepping for your summer placements, you have the support and guidance, of both your seniors and professors. There will be a lot of mock interview sessions and you will always have that senior you could approach for any help. A batch size of only around 250 means that there is lesser competition and you have higher chances at placements.

FMS does not have a formal hostel system. However, they also provide access to accommodation. The entirely novel experience of arranging accommodations for the next two years aids in developing bonds even before the sessions begin. Students get to develop more holistically with a more chilled-out atmosphere. Not being a residential program, there are chances of sudden scheduling of classes.

In two years, you’ll have sleepless nights, but you’ll also be helped by those who don’t even know your name. You’ll be rejected by companies, but you’ll also ace a few competitions. You’ll be at the bottom of your batch in a course, but you’ll also have various other arenas where you can let yourself shine. You’ll crib and cry when you’re doing most things, but you’ll be glad and proud of yourself when you manage to complete your tasks. You’ll be there for two years, but you’ll come out with a lifetime of learning, memories, and friendships.
