BHU Admission Process After CUET 2026

Make sure you have selected BHU as a preferred university while filling your NTA CUET application form, and your personal details like date of birth, gender, and category must exactly match your NTA records, as mismatches can lead to cancellation of your candidature.

Step 1: Check CUET-UG Result

Visit the official CUET portal and click on the “CUET UG 2026 Result” scorecard link. Enter your CUET 2026 Application Number, Date of Birth, and the Security PIN. Click on submit to view and download your scorecard.

Step 2: Understand BHU’s Combined Allotment Program (CAP)

BHU doesn’t do course-wise separate counselling. Instead, it runs a centralized system called the Combined Allotment Program (CAP). Before proceeding with the BHU admission process, candidates must ensure that they apply for BHU’s Combined Allotment Program – 2026 (CAP-UG 2026) along with CUET-UG.

The course-wise eligibility criteria for admission to CUET-UG accepting BHU courses are:

CoursesEligibility Criteria

Step 3: Registration and Application on the CAP Portal

Once your CUET result is out, BHU opens its counselling window. Here’s what you need to do:

Step 1: Log in with your NTA Application Number on the relevant CAP-UG portal. The basic details are already pre-filled from NTA records.

Step 2: Pay the registration fee (non-refundable) online. The registration fees for candidates under UR / OBC-NCL / EWS category is Rs 500, for SC / ST / PwBD category is Rs 250. In case of paid seats, candidates need to pay an additional amount of Rs 700, irrespective of all categories.

Step 3: Fill in course and college preferences as BHU has multiple constituent colleges and faculties, so rank your choices carefully.

Step 4: Upload required documents, including caste certificates if applicable. Candidates without valid caste-supporting documents will not be allowed admission under the UG reserved-category.

Step 5: Submit and print your application form. It might be needed in the upcoming steps of the admission process.

Step 4: Merit List and Seat Allotment

BHU calculates merit using your normalized CUET score along with program-specific eligibility rules. Based on your preferences and seat availability, the system allots you a seat in one of several rounds:

C1 (BHU Quota) and C2 (Non-BHU Quota) categories are shown separately in cutoff data.

If you’re allotted a seat and wish to upgrade in a later round, you must exercise the payment/upgrade option, otherwise your existing allotment may get auto-cancelled.

Step 5: Accept the Offer and Pay the Commitment Fee

If you receive an allotment in the first round, you generally need to:

Step 1: Accept the offer online within the given deadline

Step 2: Pay a commitment fee which is around Rs 2,500 for general category and Rs 500 for SC/ST candidates.

Step 3: Report for document verification and final admission on the scheduled date with original certificates

Quick Checklist Before You Start

  • Keep NTA CUET Application Number handy.
  • Read the relevant BHU UG Information Bulletin in detail.
  • Scanned copies of academic mark sheets, category/caste certificate, photo, and signature ready.
  • Registration fee payment method ready.
  • Shortlist your course and college preferences in advance.

Final Words

The single most important habit through this process is checking the official BHU admission portal regularly. Check dates for registration, document verification, and each allotment round are announced there, and they can shift.
