There are eight boysā€™ hostels and two girlsā€™ hostels at IIT Delhi, each being able to accommodate around 400 students. These numbers speak a lot about the huge disparity between the genders on campus. Rooms are allotted on sharing basis, and if youā€™re lucky you get to have single rooms. However, they never really stay single when you build your friend groups. Then your room becomes the common room where you get together to hang out for assignments, projects, late-night talks, and other ā€˜mastisā€™. Anywhere on the campus, there is always something going on.

Smack in the middle of Delhi, with tall buildings, you get to see some of the best views of the sun rising and setting over the 325-acre campus and the city beyond. You just have to search for a balcony or other spots on the campus high enough. Hippocrates was on to something when he said ā€˜Nature itself is the best physicianā€™. These are your healing spots, where you get to feel all the stress and worries that threaten to overcome you, quietening down.

This would have been unimaginable during your initial days on the campus.
