Exclusive TISSNET Strategy for General Awareness

TISSNET Strategy for General Awareness

The General Awareness section in the TISSNET exam is one having the highest weightage among all the sections. It is also more tough for students as compared to other TISSNET sections. Following is the weightage of different topics in the General Awareness section throughout the years.

General Awareness Topic-Wise Weightage:

The best TISSNET strategy for General Awareness would be to keep a track of all what is happening in the world. Even though the greater focus should be towards static GK, you should be prepared with current affairs of 9-12 months.

The syllabus for static GK is very vast. You can take help from iQuanta’s GK Course. Choose the right resources to prepare from. NCERT books from 6th to 10th standard will also help with topics around Social Sciences. Read newspapers like ‘The HINDU’. Take care of names of people, countries, etc.

TISSNET Strategy : Key Points To Remember

  1. Please get some full-length mocks and practice on your time management. This is a prominent aspect of TISSNET strategy for the TISSNET exam (5 should be enough to give you a feel of the real scenario).TISSNET Strategy Placement Statistics
  2. Try to maximize your score in the Non-GK section. You will be competing with the people preparing for UPSC, Working in the social sector etc. They will have GK as their strength but will struggle in the Non-GK topics especially mathematical ones.
  3. Don’t just read GK, you won’t remember them (unless you have a very sharp memory). Give sectional Mocks (must for GK section). The options will be very close, and you will end up marking the wrong one.
  4. Don’t stick with a single question. Eliminate the choices and go for the right option and move ahead (works almost every time).
  5. Don’t panic with the syllabus of GK. 50% of the syllabus you already have covered as a part of your non-cognitive learning.
  6. There will not be direct questions like you would have seen in IIFT and XAT in the TISSNET exam. Try to read about the major events instead of going through just questionnaires.
  7. Attempt every question. As there is no negative marking, you need to attempt every question. If you aren’t sure about the answer, please go ahead with a calculated guess.
  8. In TISSNET quant, there will be a few very basic questions which people tend to ignore. Revise the theoretical concepts of the above-mentioned topics for sure.
  9. Reach the examination centre on time. (You might face technical issues with the server, or the desktop allocated to you)
  10. Go with a positive can-do attitude.
